  • 2 tablespoon fresh sage finely chopped

  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 3 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 2 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cup green beans trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup cremini mushrooms sliced
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 clove garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 0.5 cup bread crumbs

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, chopped sage, salt, and pepper. Rub the mixture all over the turkey legs.
  • Place the turkey legs on a baking sheet and roast in the preheated oven for 45-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • While the turkey is roasting, cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
  • Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and start to brown.
  • Stir in the flour, paprika, and nutmeg, and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Gradually whisk in the milk and heavy cream until smooth. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  • Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well coated.
  • In a separate pot, blanch the green beans in boiling salted water for 3-4 minutes, then drain.
  • Layer the blanched green beans in a baking dish and pour the mac and cheese mixture over the top.
  • Sprinkle bread crumbs over the casserole.
  • Bake the casserole in the preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden and the casserole is bubbly.
  • Serve the roasted turkey legs alongside the mac and cheese and green bean casserole. Enjoy!
